Stuff I'll miss about the United States.

OK - so this is an easy one for me. I can sum it up in one word:

Football.

I know what you're thinking: but isn't American football such a slow game?

Yes it's slow, and I think that's what I like most about it. To be fair, it's much faster than cricket.

NFL is the perfect game to get together with a mate or three, enjoy a few beers and watch the game. Once you get used to the stop/start rhythm of the game it's the perfect tempo to do the following:
  • Have a drink
  • scream at the television
  • discuss the previous play
  • ask a deep question or make an admission that men typically only say after several hours of male bonding


    • For example:
  • take a swig of a good Pennsylvanian beer, such as a Yeungling
  • watch Donovan McNabb throw an incomplete pass targetted for Pinkston
  • shout abuse at the television along the lines of "What's wrong Pinkston? Or should I say 'Stinkston'!"
  • say "What was McNabb thinking? He should have made a running play!"
  • admit that sometimes you just like to be held
